Phase 4: KMITL Business School (KBS)
KMITL Business School embarked on a significant transformation following the Royal Gazette announcement, page 39, volume 137, special section 155 D, dated May 16, 2020, regarding the establishment of departments at King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (No. 16) 2020. The faculty's name was changed from "Faculty of Administration and Management" to "KMITL Business School." This transformation aligned with the evolving educational landscape, the faculty's vision, mission, and current responsibilities, as well as the institution's policies and Thailand's contemporary vision. The faculty adopted international management principles modeled after Harvard Business School, hence establishing its English name as King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang Business School or KMITL Business School (KBS).
The faculty's development emphasizes the international outlook to enhance global competitiveness. A new academic building reflects this international character, featuring modern classrooms, online teaching facilities with KBS Online platform, seminar rooms, academic conference rooms, professional practice rooms, business and economics laboratories, Co-Working Space, and Hall of Fame - all designed to world-class standards.
In terms of education management, the faculty has developed a hybrid learning system combining online and offline instruction. It offers both degree programs and skill enhancement courses (Reskill-Upskill) that can be converted into credit bank programs. The focus is on developing global entrepreneurs and digital technology expertise, aiming to achieve world rankings in business administration through organizations such as EdUniversal and AACSB.
The faculty has restructured its administration by eliminating departmental divisions and implementing program-level management. Currently, it offers eight programs in both Thai and international formats, comprising four undergraduate programs: Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A. Thai Program), Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A. International Program), Bachelor of Economics (B.Econ.), and Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA Global Entrepreneur International Program). At the graduate level, four programs are offered: Master of Business Administration (M.B.A. Thai Program), Master of Business Administration in Industrial Business Administration (M.B.A., International Program), Doctor of Philosophy in Industrial Business Administration (Ph.D. International Program), and Doctor of Philosophy Business Management (Ph.D.) (Thai Program).
Additionally, the faculty's Academic Service Center conducts academic services, research, and training activities. It offers various training programs including Reskill-Upskill courses, short course training, credit bank programs, and professional development programs. The faculty collaborates with both public and private sectors, domestically and internationally.
The Faculty of Business Administration continues to strengthen its position as a leading business education institution by combining advanced technology with comprehensive business education, as well as building strong relationships with industry partners and international collaboration networks to produce graduates with global competitive potential.
